The Best Financial Investment Vehicle

Nowadays you can hardly keep your head out of the sand without seeing, hearing, or reading predictions of financial doomsday. Most of these predictions conclude with the predictor, typically a financial expert of some acclaim, selling his or her advice to avoid financial ruin through some obscure investment technique.

I do not claim to be a expert economist and do not know how, when, or if many of these predictions will come to pass. However, it does not take a plethora of expertise to understand that financial markets around the world are very delicate and are easily affected by a variety of things. Many of us in this country and throughout the world have experienced personal financial difficulties to one degree or another.

I predict that financial volatility will continue at both a global and individual level. I use an investment technique that will provide stability and a sound foundation for any financial portfolio. This technique provides a return on investment far greater than any investment vehicle at a typical financial institution. My advice is free ... because it really is not mine. People both rich and poor have used this same technique for thousands of years. It will work in any country and in any currency and requires no minimum monetary investment. The technique is best described in the words of someone who knows more about past, present, and future financial markets than any contemporary expert. His words were transcribed by the biblical prophet Malachi (Malachi 3:8-12):

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Malachi is describing a principle commonly known as tithing, which is giving of one tenth (10%) of your income back to the Lord. I say "back to" the Lord because all that any of us have ultimately comes from Him. Some may find this hard to believe ... they may think that there is no God or they may think that they have earned everything they have and it is rightfully theirs. Let me remind you that you did not will yourself into existence. The prophet Benjamin describes it this way (Mosiah 2:21-22):

[He] has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another ...

And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if you would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land;

Regardless of whether you, or I, or anyone else chooses to acknowledge that we are not self-existential, it is nevertheless the truth. When we come to the realization of that truth, that we are the children of a loving God, we open the door to far greater happiness and well-being.

I know that tithing is both a true religious principle and a sound financial investment. I am not disregarding other commonly used financial investment vehicles. A sound financial portfolio includes multiple investments. But I strongly recommend paying a full tithe as the foundation of any portfolio. Paying tithing is not always easy ... paying 10% of your income may seem impossible. But I promise you that a full and honest tithe is a risk-free, guaranteed return investment. When the Lord says that he will "open the windows of heaven", he means it. Those blessings will be tailored to the needs and wants of each individual. Like other financial investments, those blessings are not always immediately evident. Those blessings will not always be monetary dividends, but they are far more valuable.
